Kate has been serving Emanuel since 2018 and was honored to be called as a full-time staff minister of music in 2022.

Kate is married to Pastor Mark Tiefel and they are blessed with three daughters. They enjoy hiking and camping, trying new restaurants and recipes, and family game and movie nights.

In addition to her work at Emanuel, Kate enjoys connecting with and supporting WELS music teachers. In 2020, she co-founded the Lutheran Institute for Music Education which offers educational consulting to WELS teachers and schools.

She embraces the Apostle Paul’s words in Ephesians 5:19b, "Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord."
